Applying for Building Permits

The Building and Safety Division is now accepting building permit applications via the online permit center. The new electronic permit processing system is open for submittals, and it provides 24/7 online services for all patrons, including Permit and Plan Check Applications, Payment Processing Online, Status of your project throughout the process, Search Building, Planning, Engineering, and Fire Records.

At this time the following types of permits may be submitted using the Online Permit Center:

  • Commercial Re-roof
  • Fence Permits
  • Patio Covers
  • Pool/Spa - Residential
  • Residential Electrical
  • Residential Mechanical
  • Residential Plumbing
  • Residential Re-roof
  • Sign - Permanent 
  • Solar Permit

**For all other permits not listed above must be applied for/submitted via email to building@cityofbrea.net
