Republic Service Trash Drop-Off Bin

Update on Delayed Trash Service

Waste and recycling service in the City continues to be temporarily delayed due to a work stoppage at Republic Services, the City's contracted waste hauler. Last Thursday, December 9, Republic Services informed the City of a work stoppage at its facilities due to labor negotiations. To alleviate some of the impacts this has caused our community, trash drop-off bins have been placed throughout the City. Residents may also use their brown yard waste bins for excess trash. Below is information about the Trash Drop-Off Locations, as well as instructions from Republic Services for this week.

The City of Brea is closely following this quickly evolving situation. In addition, the City has begun to pursue alternatives in hiring another company to come in and perform trash collection services. We appreciate our community’s patience throughout this temporary delay in trash service. In the meantime, we will continue to provide information regarding trash service as soon as those details become available. Please help us get the word out by sharing this information with your neighbors!

Trash Drop-Off Bins

For those in need of disposing of trash during this service delay, the City is providing trash drop-off locations for Brea residents and businesses. Everyone needs to handle their own refuse at these locations. City staff will be on-hand to direct and provide limited hands-on support.
