State of California Releases New Guidance Requiring Face Coverings
Yesterday, the State of California released new guidance stating that Californians must wear face coverings when in high-risk situations. The full details can be found on the State’s document issuing the newly released guidance.
The California Department of Public Health listed the following as high risk situations:
Inside and in line for any indoor public space
At any healthcare setting
Using public transit or rideshare
At workplaces in common areas
For any food service, packaging or distribution
In any room or enclosed area where you’re unable to distance from those outside your own household.
Outside when within six feet of others
The State also provided a list of individuals and circumstances that are exempt from wearing a face covering.
Children younger than 2
Those with health, mental or developmental considerations
Those who face workplace risks from wearing a face covering
Medical treatments where removal is necessary
While eating or drinking
While exercising outdoors or indoors when distanced from others
While working outdoors when distanced
County of Orange Announces Additional Businesses Able to Re-Open on June 19
The Orange County Board of Supervisors and Health Care Agency approved the County to re-open additional sectors of economies starting on Friday, June 19. This occurred as a result of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) releasing new guidance for the re-opening of additional sectors of economies the previous week. The newly issued guidance provides corresponding sectors with information on public health modifications they should implement prior to opening.
The new business include, Massage Services, Nail Salons, Body Art Professionals, Tattoo Parlors, Piercing Shops, Electrology, Esthetician, Skin Care and Cosmetology Services. The City has been compiling a list of businesses and facilities may and may not open at this time, along with industry guidance.

Orange County Health Care Agency Statistics
According to County statistics, there has unfortunately been 257 deaths, with 7 newly-reported deaths today. There have been 9,576 confirmed COVID-19 cumulative cases county-wide, 288 of which were newly-reported today. There have been 202,884 tests administered, with 671 tests reported today. 336 cases are currently hospitalized, 142 of which are in the ICU. The County estimates 4,591 individuals have recovered, but this number is speculative.
