Birth of Motion Pictures

This retrospective exhibition provided a rare look into the largest compilation of silent movie posters and memorabilia, kicking off Brea’s centennial celebration with works on loan from the private collection of Brea’s own Dwight Manley. Featuring exquisite, never before shown silent movie posters, and actual ‘silent Oscar.' Original posters from Brea’s centennial year, 1917, Academy Award winning film posters, and movie memorabilia; this show was comprehensive and delightful. Silent films were screened in the Gallery throughout the exhibition and an exhibit catalog was available for sale.
